The Nurse Manager is responsible for assisting with organizing, planning, leading, and directing clinical and management activities for the designated nursing unit. The Nurse Manager contributes to organizational operations. The Nurse Manager is accountable for daily supervision of patient/nursing care delivery. The Nurse Manager participates as a member of the health care team in maintaining continuity and quality of patient care. This position reports to the divisional Patient Care Director.
Required Education and Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing AND
One of the following:
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years leadership experience OR
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in the discipline OR
Master’s Degree and no experience
Also:
Two years in charge or a leadership position within the last five years in a hospital setting
Five years recent nursing experience
Required Licensure and Certifications
Active RN license (RN TN)
Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)
ACLS required on telemetry units within six months
Preferred Licensure and Certifications
Specialty Certification required within six months
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training
Clinical knowledge as a Registered Nurse in the same or similar clinical specialty
Prior leadership Experience
Staffing or Budget Management
