Overview

Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta is a member of the Dignity Health system of health care providers and is a not-for-profit medical facility. We are designated as a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital and are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health care Organizations. In addition to our acute care hospital we also own and operate three Rural Health Clinics providing walk-in immediate care as well as scheduled appointments for routine medical needs.

We are located in the northernmost area of California and are part of a network of care, including Mercy Medical Center Redding and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff. Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

The RN is a licensed professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for groups of patients in multiple nursing units for designated time frames and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

1 year or equivalent hours of critical care (ICU OR ER) experience within the last 3 years

California RN license

BLS certification and ACLS certification (both must be completed through an AHA authorized training center)

 

Preferred Qualfications:

More than 2 years of acute care experience as a registered nurse

Bachelors Degree in Nursing

 

 

Supplemental nurses availability/working requirements:
Those nurses working 8 hour shifts must be available to work four shifts in a calendar month.
Those working 12 hour shifts must be available to work three (4) shifts in a calendar month.
All supplemental nurses must be available to work at least one (1) holiday between January 1 and June 30th and one (1) holiday between July 1st and December 31st of each calendar year
