The Legacy Foundation of Kentuckiana (LFK) cultivates healthy communities for all, especially those who are vulnerable, through impact-driven philanthropy. The Foundation makes charitable grants in six area counties: Jefferson, Shelby, Bullitt, Nelson, and Hardin in Kentucky, and Clark in Indiana. LFK is part of CHI Saint Joseph Health in Lexington, which is part of CommonSpirit Health, a national healthcare system. The foundation was originally established as a fundraising foundation in the 1980s for Jewish Hospital, supporting the facilities, services and programs of Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Over time it became the Jewish Hospital and St. Mary’s Foundation, and then in 2019, when the former Jewish & St. Mary's Healthcare facilities were divested to the University of Louisville, it became a community grantmaking foundation known as the Legacy Foundation of Kentuckiana.
Job Summary / Purpose
The primary duties of this position are to manage the community grantmaking program of the Legacy Foundation of Kentuckiana, which includes the grant application process, ongoing reporting from grant recipients, and analysis of LFK’s impact, as well as to oversee certain other charitable grant distributions. This person also represents LFK at community events and supports the administrative needs of LFK’s local Advisory Council.
The position is based in Louisville, KY, but may require a day of travel to Elizabethtown and/or Bardstown, KY up to 10 times a year. This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as a passion and commitment to accuracy, detail, and organization. This individual must be a motivated self-starter, thrive in an environment with both local and remote team members and be comfortable managing various tasks simultaneously. The individual must have demonstrated proficiency with computer technology, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite, and social media applications. This role has the option of a hybrid work environment.
