Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Certified Physical Therapist Assistant (CPTA), you will help patients perform all phases of physical therapy treatment and documentation, under the guidance and direction of a Physical Therapist, so they can regain mobility, manage pain, and achieve their rehabilitation goals in alignment with our healthcare philosophy.

 

Every day you will assist in the administration of physician-ordered physical therapy treatment, teach patients and families functional activities, and document accurate patient records and progress notes.

 

To be successful in this role, you must be a graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program, have at least one year of acute care or SNF experience, and demonstrate strong communication skills with both supervising PTs and patients/families.

  • Assist in the administration of physician-ordered physical therapy treatment for mobility, strength, pain control, and range of motion, adhering to infection control policies.
  • Teach patients and/or caregivers in functional activities and treatment techniques of physical therapy to meet their needs.
  • Administer manual exercises, instruct, encourage, and assist patients in performing physical activities, and competently administer physical therapy treatments such as applying heat/cold/moist packs, massages, and using therapeutic equipment under PT direction.
  • Communicate patient progress toward goals and rehabilitative potential to the supervising licensed Physical Therapist and other healthcare team members, notifying them of any unanticipated changes.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and progress notes, collaborating with the licensed Physical Therapist to ensure the treatment plan is followed and carried out.
  • Adhere to the standards of conduct and professional code of ethics promulgated by the American Physical Therapy Association for a registered Physical Therapist Assistant.

 

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program
  • One (1) Year Of Acute Care Or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience within the last five (5) years
  • Active Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license in the State of California
  • Basic Life Support – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BLS-CPR) within thirty (30) days of hire
  • Driver's License: California
  • Auto Insurance
