Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant provides patient care under the clinical supervision of a Physician Assistant, delivering services aligned with individual needs, clinician requests, and standard care practices. This role encompasses both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure a high level of patient satisfaction in a cost-effective manner. Employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with the vision, values, and guiding principles of the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and document vital signs, reasons for visits, and patient medication lists.
  • Prepare patients and examination rooms for clinical evaluations and treatments.
  • Assist clinicians with procedures, reinforce patient education, and schedule follow-up appointments.
  • Manage front-office duties, including scheduling, phone triage, medical record management, and patient transportation arrangements.
  • Adhere to hospital and departmental policies, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and standards for Medical Assistants.

This position requires excellent communication skills, a commitment to providing exceptional customer service, and a proactive approach to supporting the operational and clinical goals of the department.

Qualifications

  • Neurosurgery Experience Highly Preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certification and AHA-Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • At least one year of clinical/patient care experience is required
  • Clinical experience equivalent to Medical Assistant is preferred
  • Computer literate with keyboard skills
  • Good communication skills
