CHI St. Alexius Health is a regional health network with a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, the system also consists of critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services.  CHI St. Alexius Health manages four CAHs in North Dakota - Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, S.D. Responsibilities

What

What You'll Do:

  • Assesses, implements, evaluates, and oversees overall programming of the Bariatric Service Line according to policies, procedures, patient education, and standards of practice of the medical center, accrediting organizations, and governmental regulations, with a focus on patient safety.
  • Coordinates clinical activities, professional and public education, quality and process improvement, research, outcomes data submission and leadership functions in compliance with the MBSAQIP.
  • Collaborate with providers to develop and implement standards of care for select patient populations.
  • Functions as a liaison between staff, physicians, social workers, mental health staff, dieticians, and patients/families by assessing, securing, and coordinating appropriate services regarding weight loss care.
  • Coordinates a recommended process for individuals considering surgery, including post-surgical and follow up care.
  • Collects and organizes data and works with the clinical reviewer to ensure timely submission of outcomes data.
  • Ensures support group availability to assist with pre-op and post-op patient needs.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State licensing board (must be licensed in the State in which patient care is provided)
  • 1 year related experience in a clinic, specialty clinic, or acute hospital setting
  • 2 years experience in obesity disease management and/or weight loss Surgery preferred
