Responsibilities

Position Summary:
 
As our Nurse Manager Perioperative Services at St. Bernardine Medical Center, you will oversee our Surgery/OR and GI departments.  You will lead a team of frontline nurses and act as the conduit between these caregivers and leadership teams. You will communicate the organization’s goals to the nursing staff as we constantly seek to improve patient experiences, reach out to our community, and deliver quality care. At the same time, you will advocate for your team by bringing any issues, requests, or new ideas from them to leadership.
 
Our surgical department at St. Bernardine consists of 11 operating rooms and 1 GI suite. Surgical specialties include; Open Heart/Vascular, Thoracic, Interventional Pulmonology, OB/GYN, Neuro, Hepato-Biliary, Orthopedics, General, Urology, GI, and Bariatrics. We have 2 Da Vinci XI Robots.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent education and experience required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience and one (1) year of leadership experience required.
Required Licensure: 
  • Registered Nursing License (RN) in CA required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
