Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

 Our Neuro Care (Medical Acute) unit specializes in the care of patients with neurological conditions and/or disorders such as acute stroke, brain injury, epilepsy, and dementia. Our nurses support the patients in their acute phase of recovery, as well as provide supportive care to patients with chronic conditions. They are trained to monitor deviations in neurological status during recovery and or treatment, based on the individual’s diagnosis. We have special skills with providing care to our seizure/epilepsy patients who come in to our Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) for continuous EEG monitoring. It is a challenging but rewarding role, providing this specialty of care while still prioritizing holistic care. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license 
  • Six (6) months of experience in a medical/surgical acute care setting as a Registered Nurse
  • Telemetry, and ACLS certifications within six (6) months of hire 
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 
  • Other certifications may be required
