Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 200 providers and 500 support staff that cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 subspecialty services. The Medical Assistant (MA) Lead is responsible for knowing his/her professional scope of practice. The MA Lead maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment, and performs patient care services that support the physician / provider's practice under the clinical supervision of the Physician, Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, physicians assistant or licensed Vocational Nurse. This includes assisting in prepping patients for examinations or procedures, assisting with procedures, relaying instructions from the physician to a patient or authorized person, and collecting patient data. Documenting patient concerns, patient messages, and care provided to the patient in the patients medical record for the physician's review. Administrating medications specifically directed by the physician and performing accurate vital sign measurements and documentation. The lead is responsible for overseeing the dayto-day operations of the back office and other duties as assigned by the area manager.

MINIMUM

High School Diploma / GED

A graduate of a Medical Assistant Program Required or Completion of an U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program

Six (6) month's experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant along with demonstrated experience with computer program utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients.

American Heart Association CPR-BLS

PREFERRED

One year of previous MA experience
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
Previous experience in designated specialty
