In accordance with the mission and philosophy of Dignity Health, the Administrative Nurse I/ Charge Nurse I is a professional caregiver in the Operating Room who assumes responsibility for the clinical operations of an assigned service (s) or responsibility for management of the nursing front desk in the Pavilion and/or the Main O.R. The Administrative Nurse I/ Charge Nurse I works collaboratively with the Perioperative Director, the O.R. Manager, the Perianesthesia Manager, the nursing and the medical staffs. The Administrative Nurse I/ Charge Nurse I continues to hone his/her clinical abilities through scrubbing and circulating surgical procedures. The Administrative Nurse I/ Charge Nurse I who is responsible for management of the front desk will have a clinical assignment (scrubbing, circulating or
roving) at least 1 day per week.
As a Service Lead, the Administrative Nurse I/ Charge Nurse I coordinates equipment and supplies for specific cases. He/she interacts with surgeons; maintains preference cards; assists with training of specialty team members in both the scrubbing and circulating role; works with the staff scheduler to make sure their service is properly staffed. B.The Administrative Nurse I/Charge Nurse I running the front desk facilitates the work flow in the Operating Room Dept.
He/she will determine daily staff assignments and staff relief throughout the day. He/she will coordinate any added on surgical cases for the day. He/she will work with the O.R. manager to determine upcoming staffing needs and intradepartmental needs for the O.R. Dept. The Administrative Nurse I/
