Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive care to bariatric patients and their significant others. This position participates in the design and planning for a bariatric program and in the development of approved protocols for the medical and surgical management population in the CHI Health Division.

 

Functions within the scope of practice for the licensed health care professional or registered dietician incumbent’s licensure and certification as defined by Nebraska/Iowa state law and licensure. A written integrated practice agreement between the APRN and the collaborating physician will define the provisions of healthcare to the bariatric patient population.

Coordinates and participates in the development of care protocols policies and procedures for the medical and surgical management of bariatric patients. Coordinate with other departments and units to integrate care protocols within ancillary and support departments.

Qualifications

Masters Of Science - Nurse Practitioner, Masters of Science in Nursing Degree, Registered Nurse, Registered Dietitian

Bachelors - in area of specialty

Programs accredited by other credentialed bodies may be considered if program included formal externship

Experience minimum of 5 years, acute care, and clinical experience with experience in a bariatric program management

Registered Nurse: NE (RN:NE)

Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)
