Job Summary:
The Clinic Nurse Supervisor (NSM) plays a vital leadership role in overseeing the daily clinical operations of the clinic. This position supervises both Registered Nurses (RNs) and Medical Assistants (MAs), ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the shift. The NSM serves as the point of contact for operational issues, including service recovery, clinical staffing coverage, and real-time coordination of care.
Responsibilities include facilitating shift huddles, monitoring and approving PTO requests, ensuring adequate break and staffing coverage, editing and approving time cards, and managing staff schedules via TEAM Planner. The NSM supports onboarding and orientation of new staff, coordinating training materials and schedules. This role also leads initiatives around staff education, updates communication boards, and assists with performance evaluations in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.
Additional duties include conducting daily environmental rounds (EOC), such as checking the AED, blanket warmers, and supply stock for expired items, escalating unresolved issues appropriately. The NSM is expected to use various clinical equipment including vital signs carts, EKG machines, Dopplers, and the West Com call system.
This leadership role requires proactive problem-solving, strong communication, and the ability to support a culture of safety, efficiency, and exceptional patient care.
