About This Position
The Registered Nurse at Marian Medical Center manages quality patient care using the nursing process, as is consistent with the facility's philosophy. The Registered Nurse will coordinate care plans with the health care team and maintain a leadership role among unit personnel by preparing and assisting them with their responsibilities. Employees are responsible for completing unit competency assessments, annual safety reviews, CPR, and license renewal by maintaining continuing education units as required by hospital policy. In addition to these responsibilities, the Registered Nurse may also be assigned other duties.
The Registered Nurse should demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team in order to deliver patient care. The Registered Nurse must also possess proficiency in basic nursing skills and specialty skills. They must demonstrate a working knowledge of the nursing process and be able to apply it appropriately. The Registered Nurse should also display a caring, compassionate attitude towards others. In addition, they must be capable of organizing and prioritizing work efficiently. The Registered Nurse should demonstrate clear and effective oral and written English skills, as well as objective active listening skills. The Registered Nurse should also be willing and able to actively participate in process improvement activities. They must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to collaborate with colleagues from other departments. The Registered Nurse must remain calm and efficient during emergencies. Lastly, the Registered Nurse must be able to work with others to provide leadership to the patient care team.
