Dignity Health Advanced Imaging, a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation, provides cutting-edge diagnostic imaging services at 23 locations across Redding, Santa Cruz, Sacramento, Woodland. Our team of 160 staff members work with our specialty trained and board certified radiologists to provide high quality care to our patients. The locations perform more than 175,000 exams annually with the goal of providing top quality imaging, compassionate care, and timely service with a smile.

Responsibilities

The Radiologic Technologist position is responsible for knowing his/her professional scope of practice as defined by the California Business and Professional Code and for satisfactorily completing the Dignity Health Medical Foundation orientation period that includes demonstrating skills and behaviors that meet a fully competent level of performance. Radiologic Technologists maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment and perform patient care services that support the physician / provider's practice under the supervision of the radiologists, other licensed staff and Management. This includes assisting in prepping patients for Radiologic examinations, relaying instructions from the radiologist to a patient or authorized person, and collecting patient data, documenting patient concerns, patient messages, and care provided to the patient in the patient's medical record for the radiologist review, and performing diagnostic medical imaging. May be required to work in other modalities with possession of appropriate licensure.

 

May be required to occasionally work at other locations within the Greater Sacramento Area as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

 

- High School Diploma.

- Satisfactory completion of a formal AMA school of Radiolologic Technology or equivalent to an AMA Technologic program.

- Medical Radiographer: CA 

- Current BLS through American Heart Association

- Skills:

1. Ability to properly position patients to provide quality imaging.

2. Ability to troubleshoot equipment operation and perform simple adjustments.

3. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients medical staff management and peers.

4. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to manage interactions with difficult people.

5. Excellent telephone skills.

6. Passion for excellence in the care of patients and provision of timely and quality service.

7. Basic computer skills.

- Other Requirements and responsibilities:

1. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint areas for radiography.

2. Knowledge of radiology equipment and testing.

3. Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment body mechanics and patient movement.

4. Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively and cope effectively in a fast paced environment.

5. Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.

6. Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person by phone and in writing.

7. Requires adherence to all policies and procedures including standards for safety attendance punctuality and personal appearance.

8. Maintain current CPR. Maintain current State of California X-ray Technician license.

9. Maintain accurate records as directed.

10. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

11. Work as a team member within DI and all other departments.

12. Document work processes as required.

13. Perform other duties as assigned.

- Production and quality requirements: Must be able to perform 20-25 examinations per business day Imaging quality must meet quality standards established by DI quality program which requires a repeat rate of less than 5% per month. Customer service satisfaction grade must be an average of 3.5 on a 5-point scale. Must comply with Personnel Policy number 250 for unscheduled absences and tardiness. This includes a limit of 5 unscheduled absences and 5 unscheduled tardies per year.

- Must provide documentation of obtaining continuing education units required to maintain licensure.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

- Minimum of one year of x-ray experience preferred.

- AMER REGISTRY RAD TECH (RG ARRT)
