For more than 70 years, Mercy Medical Center Redding has offered comprehensive health care in the North State, providing acute care and a full range of medical services. The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care, Stroke Care, Orthopedics, Neurological Surgery, Comprehensive Cancer Care, Maternity Care, and da Vinci Robotic Surgery. It is the sole provider of obstetrical services, along with the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta County. In addition, the hospital’s network of care includes Mercy Home Health and Hospice and Dignity Health Connected Living. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a member of the Dignity Health system and is a sister facility to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff and Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta. Responsibilities

Under indirect supervision the incumbent is responsible for the management of physician and other contracts and amendments in the North State Service Area. This position serves as the leader and representative of Physician and Provider Contracting. The incumbent works closely with the Chief Physician Executive, Senior Legal Counsel, Executive Leadership, Hospital Presidents, as well as other healthcare leadership on initiative related to Physician Contracting. THe incumbent provides analysis of contract terms and financial arrangements and collaborates with and supports senior executives with negotiating and managing contracts with physicians and physician hroups inclusing recuirment, medical director, call coverage, professional services, hospital-based and other types of agreements. REspoisble for the gathering and collecting of fair market value (FMV) documentation for all physician arrangements and the development of the proformas for community recruitments. Assist with general contracting duties, including entering eLSRs, obtaining signatures, monitoring expiring reports and working closely with te Legal Department and the executive leadership recruiting new providers. The position report to the Chief Finance Officer of the North State Service Area with dotted line reporting relationships to all of the facility Presidents.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience with financial analysis and accounting related to physician transactions.
  • 5+ years supervisory/management or demonstrated experience in healthcare contracting or similar field managing complex processes with multiple stakeholders.
  • Broad knowledge of physician/provider contracting as well as requirements surrounding physician compensation arrangements.
  • Professional experience successful engaging with physicians, executive leadership and physician leadership.
  • Knowledge of Stark and Anti-Kickback legislation and regulations related to physician transactions.
  • An Understanding of Medicare fee schedule and payment mechanisms used in the Health Care industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in processing and tracking financial information.
  • Solid working knowledge of modern office terminology and computer applications; must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentations.
  • Proven communication skills, including verbal and written skills with expertise in Word, Powerboat and related programs.
  • Proven data base management expertise in Excel, Access, and Dignity Health programs such as Lawson, ROAR and LION.
  • Medical terminology, contract administration, Medical/legal requirements required.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively work with people of diverse rank and culture across a variety of business disciplines.
  • Ability to quickly grasp business objectives, prioritize and organize work and handle multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Requires a highly organized individual capable of multitasking.
