The Trauma Nurse/Injury Prevention Coordinator is a Registered Nurse who reports directly to the Trauma Program Director and is under the Trauma Medical Director for the Department of Surgery. In this position it is vital that one develops collaborative relationships with Hospital's Medical staff, Administrators, Directors of the Multidisciplinary Departments, and Nursing to facilitate cooperation and support for the trauma program. In this role one will also assist in determining standards for quality and quantity of work material, equipment and facilities needed to accomplish program goals. Assess and review emergency, and ICU trauma nursing care, data collection and data entry into the TEMIS, EMS database, maintaining a trauma registry and comply with contract requirements. Promotes community awareness of the trauma system as well as injury prevention. Participates with community wide trauma education and injury prevention programs for both hospital and the general public.
