Dominican offers emergency services and is a Certified Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center. Dominican’s services include the only comprehensive Cancer Center in Santa Cruz County, a Total Joint Replacement program, and advanced neurological and endoscopic services. Ensures safe, high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing operative procedures. Renders nursing care within the surgical suite. Circulates or scrubs on all surgical procedures. Responsible for pre-surgical assessment of the patient, the intra-operative process and the post procedure
discharge.

ALL REGISTERED NURSES will render professional nursing care to patients,
support medical care as directed by physicians. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health/Dominican Hospital. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The RN shall support Dignity Health/Dominican Hospital's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities and patient satisfaction.

Requirements:

Entry level position for the RN/permittee and reentry RN (with more than 5 years absence from acute care work experience) with limited or no experience. *New graduate and re-entry RN s are expected to advance to the Staff Nurse II level within 6 months. Proficient in English. Verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills required.

Licensure:

• Current and active CA RN license
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association 
• Current NRP certification - within 3 months of hire
• Advanced fetal monitoring within 8 months of hire, renewable every year until successfully passing NCC-C EFM (Certification in fetal monitoring).
• NCC-C EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) within 3 years of hire. Renewable every 3 years according to certification license.
