Responsibilities

Are you a skilled and dedicated Radiologic Technologist seeking a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact? St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA, a member of the CHI Franciscan Health family, is looking for a passionate individual to join our team as a full-time Evening Shift Radiologic Technologist!

In this crucial role, you'll be a key player in providing exceptional diagnostic imaging services to our patients during the evening hours. You'll utilize your expertise to perform a wide range of radiographic procedures across various locations, including the emergency room, surgery, and patient rooms, assisting physicians in accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.

JOB SUMMARY

Performs radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures in various locations including (but not limited to) clinics, emergency room, special procedures room, surgery, or patient rooms, to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. Work is accomplished by operating the radiographic equipment to produce radiographic recorded images of the body. Performs technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes that are in keeping with department protocols and applicable regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare and operate radiology equipment to obtain high-quality radiographic images based on physician orders.
  • Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding.
  • Utilize radiation safety techniques to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document relevant information.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and radiologists, communicating needs and concerns.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations within your scope of practice.
  • Perform general office duties as needed, including answering phones and ordering supplies.

Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology.
  • One year of recent related work experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of radiological examination procedures and equipment.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety regulations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • Current Washington State certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Current healthcare provider BLS certification.
