Methodist Hospital also owns and operates Bruceville Terrace – a 171-bed, sub-acute skilled nursing long-term care facility adjacent to the hospital that provides care for the elderly, as well as those requiring extended recoveries. Methodist Hospital is home to the Family Medicine Residency Program, an accredited and nationally recognized program which provides resident physicians with specialty training in primary care family medicine. Responsibilities

The Lactation and Doula Services Program Coordinator collaborates with members of the healthcare team to ensure the promotion, protection and support of breastfeeding, and onboarding/training of doula providers. Is involved in the overall patient breastfeeding program development and coordination, as well as providing direct patient care. Provides assessment, intervention, and planning in the areas of Nutrition, Health Education, Lactation Services, and Psychosocial referrals to patients receiving care within the Women's and Children's Service Line. Provides coordination of the daily operations of the lactation department and doula services. In conjunction with department Director, has responsibility for maintaining schedules of staff, human resource development, quality patient care, efficiency, and financial outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Three years minimum lactation education experience Experience providing perinatal health education in an acute care, community, or public health setting
  • Bachelor's degree (BA, BS)
  • IBCLC International Board Certified Lactation Consultant
  • BLS-CPR
