Responsible for the planning and coordination of the daily patient access (admitting) operations. Conducts staff education and training to support department efficiency and effectiveness.
High School Diploma or GED
Two years of experience in hospital or medical clinic business processes e.g. Patient Access, Insurance Authorization, Patient Financial Services, Patient Accounting, Patient Scheduling OR three years of general business process experience with a minimum of six month of YRMC Patient Access experience
Knowledge and understanding of processes and systems related to registration and patient eligibility systems
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service
Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing effective customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for delivered services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment
Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows, including experience using multiple software/computer applications simultaneously
Basic proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to effectively capture information and accurately enter the data into software applications
Proficiency with patient registration computer applications
Previous leadership experience preferred
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred; Cerner strongly preferred
