Responsibilities

This position is responsible for providing Neurological Diagnostics procedures in all patient care areas including NCS/EMG. Assess diagnostics needs of patients and works under medical supervision operating sophisticated medical equipment.

 

  • Recognizes clinically significant events and follows facility policy and procedures regarding critical test results
  • Communicates appropriately and effectively with the patient to convey the purpose of the NCS and answers questions regarding the test as well as with higher level personnel
  • Performs standard and complex electroencephalographic recordings
  • Keeps equipment in a clean operating condition. Troubleshoots and repairs minor malfunctions in the equipment.  Initiates repair of malfunctioning equipment
  • Transports patients, maintaining safety and comfort
  • Practices strict ethical enforcement of protected medical and employee confidentiality
  • Authorized to make entries in the medical record, consistent with and limited to the scope of the job duties and any applicable licensure

Qualifications

Licenses & Certifications

  • BLS through American Heart Association certification is required upon hire

  • Knowledgeable and skilled in EMG/NCS diagnostic testing
