Responsibilities

Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the credentialing process for our physicians and other healthcare providers, ensuring they meet all requirements to practice at our hospital.

 

  • Collect and verify provider information, including licenses, certifications, DEA numbers, and malpractice insurance.
  • Submit credentialing applications to the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB), state licensing boards, and other required entities.
  • Track the status of applications and follow up with entities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date provider files.
  • Liaise with providers and internal stakeholders to resolve any issues.
  • Stay informed of changes in credentialing regulations and requirements.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of two years of Medical Staff experience. Including credentialing functions in either a hospital or managed care environment.
  • Strong computer and information management skills required.
  • Microsoft Word; Access and other Medical Staff Software preferred.
  • CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) or CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Services Management) preferred.
  • Fire Safety Card (must obtain within 90 days of start date)

 

This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and covered by the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.
