Responsibilities

Job Summary / Purpose

Provides general maintenance coverage on any shift. This position requires multiple skills and demonstrates excellent team skills in supporting the mission, standards and program of the department.


Essential Functions

  • Corrects and repairs minor plumbing, to include flush valve, drain stoppage, faucet repairs and shower valve repairs.
  • Corrects med gas valve leaks by rebuilding front bodies as required.
  • Corrects and repairs minor electrical problems such as replaces ballasts, receptacle and light switches.
  • Performs all general maintenance assignments as required.
  • Completes inspections according to established procedures completing log sheets, checklists and PM sheets as required.
  • Completes required documentation in reference to mechanical systems as required by federal, state and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist other skilled workers and performs general maintenance work as requested.
  • Facilitates the efficient operation of the department by answering the telephone and assisting callers or visitors with request.
  • Safe handling/disposal/packaging for Transport of Pharmaceutical Waste / Hazardous Materials / Biohazardous Regulated Medical Waste.
  • Completes the Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCA) and Hazardous Waste education during employee orientation.
  • Tri-annually education for the D.O.T. training.
  • Knowledgeable of the process for identifying the proper waste stream and uses the appropriate container to dispose of waste.
  • Knowledgeable regarding the process to contact the emergency response coordinator for hazardous waste / pharmaceutical release / spill clean-up.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 

Licensure and Certifications

  • Driver's License: KY (AUTO:KY) required.
