Responsibilities

Job Summary:

As a Pharmacy Tech, you'll work under the supervision of a Pharmacist and you'll perform a variety of duties to support the daily workflow of the pharmacy.  Your responsibilities will include:

  • Distributing medications in compliance with state and federal laws and internal policies and procedures
  • Preparing and dispensing prescribed medications for patients
  • Compounding of medications
  • Assisting in managing inventory
  • Charging and crediting functions for medications associated with drug distribution processes
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment by using aseptic technique, careful handling of controlled substances, completing continuing education assignments
  • Participating in department quality assurance programs
    Administrative and clerical duties

Qualifications

Education/Work Experience Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program
One year of hospital work experience or hospital rotation within an accredited training program is preferred

 

Licensure/Certification:
License as a Pharmacy Technician by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.
Washington State Driver’s license required only for those staff with an “off site refill” assignment
Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification
