Under the direction of the Anatomic Pathology Supervisor, is responsible for preparation of histologic and cytologic materials, routine and special stains; cataloging, storage and proper disposal of tissues, blocks and slides; record keeping such as temperature charts and workload statistics; performance of maintenance and problem solving. The Histology Technologist is also responsible to assist pathologist in establishing and documenting new procedures for special techniques and to assist supervisor in implementing of new procedures. Also assists with inservice and training as needed and documents quality assurance.
