Responsibilities

The incumbent is a member of the healthcare team whose role is to facilitate unit operations through patient registration and scheduling, order processing, requistion of services and patient procedures, processing and tracking of charges as applicable, maintaining accurate and compete patient charts, managing unit clerical supplies and demonstrating proper communications etiquette while managing multiple phone and intercom lines. May access medication storage areas in accordance with their job function and hospital policy.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Unit Assistant/Clerk or equivant experience in a healthcare setting (1 year required).
  • Medical terminology course or equivalent knowledge.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience assisting in direct patient care.
