Responsibilities

This is a California centered position. Chosen candidate can live anywhere in CA, preferably between Los Angeles and San Francisco.  Local travel to hospitals will be required, but this is a remote position. 

 

Job Summary

The Regional Director Philanthropy plans and implements a comprehensive fundraising program in support of philanthropy's national initiatives. This position is responsible for planning and administering a comprehensive and balanced fundraising program in support, overseeing the fundraising  progress toward the successful attainment of the More in Common Alliance $100 million  philanthropic campaign.

 

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  • Focuses on Major Gifts; depending upon the Prospect, may be the primary or secondary fundraiser. 
  • Develops and oversees the fundraising strategic plan to generate major gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations and grants for system national initiatives for the Santa Cruz, Ventura and Bakersfield areas in California.
  • Manages and builds a portfolio of prospects and donors to build and maintain a prospect and donor base for the Foundation. Works with prospects and develop their relationship with the organization, ultimately increasing giving.
  • Develops collateral for fundraising, creates menu of giving opportunities, writes case statements and proposals, and implement digital fundraising programs.
  • May oversee the management of staff, volunteer and support groups, councils, committees; measures their impact on the overall goals of the organization.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication while adhering to expectations of professionalism and camaraderie with co-workers, peers, supervisors and all persons with whom this role must interact in furtherance of completing all job duties.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of not-for-profit fundraising and development experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of management experience.
  • Bachelors Degree
  • A combination of education and/or additional job-related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.
