Mercy Medical Group, a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation, is a multi-specialty clinic with 26 locations throughout the greater Sacramento area. We have more than 400 medical providers and 900 Dignity Health Medical Foundation employees providing a wide range of services to thousands of patients in the Sacramento area and to our affiliated local Dignity Health hospitals (Mercy General Hospital, Mercy San Juan Medical Center, Mercy Hospital of Folsom and Methodist Hospital of Sacramento).

Responsibilities

At Mercy Medical Group (MMG), we believe exceptional care begins with exceptional people. As a People and Culture Business Partner (OPCBP) in the People & Culture Office, you will serve as a strategic advisor and trusted collaborator to leadership, physicians, and staff. This role supports a full spectrum of HR responsibilities, operations, and initiatives that promote MMG’s values of trust, respect, connection, integrity, and safety. You will help create a supportive and high-performing culture where employees are empowered, engaged, and aligned with our mission.

 

Operations, Reporting & Administration:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to departmental leaders, offering strategic support in workforce planning, organizational development, and talent management.
  • Support employee relations, conducting investigations and offering sound, values-based resolution guidance.
  • Champion a culture of inclusion, integrity, and open communication throughout the organization.
  • Maintain and update the MMG People & Culture Dashboard.
  • Generate recurring reports to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage the MMG People & Culture mailbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses.

Employee Experience & Engagement:

  • Act as liaison between departments and the People & Culture Office, helping employees and leaders connect to the right resources or team members.
  • Support communication efforts, including drafting and sending departmental updates and follow-up messages related to HR timelines or initiatives.
  • Coordinate 45- to 60-day check-ins between new employees and their assigned HRBP to ensure smooth onboarding and integration.
  • Lead collection of 360-degree evaluation names, distribute surveys (SurveyMonkey), and compile final evaluation packets for leadership reviews.

Culture & Recognition Programs:

  • Plan and coordinate department events, such as the Annual Gala and Wellness Retreat.
  • Support and document committee meetings including the Wellness Committee and Communication Committee (schedule meetings, take minutes, distribute notes).
  • Manage service awards program including Years of Service recognition, peer nominations, and retirement acknowledgments.

Performance & Development Support:

  • Assist with performance management processes including coaching support, documentation, and timelines.
  • Participate in new leader reviews, compiling performance data and feedback

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience working within the Human Resources function
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Competence in Google functionality (Sheets, Slides, Scheduling, etc.,)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust-based partnerships across diverse teams.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects with integrity and discretion.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, HR policies, and HRIS/reporting tools.
  • Commitment to upholding confidentiality, fairness, and ethical decision-making in all HR practices.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for building connections across all levels of the organization.

Preferred Experience and Certifications:

  • Experience in healthcare, non-profit, or mission-driven organizations is highly desirable.

  • PHR or SHRM Certificate
