Responsibilities

Our Stationary Engineer performs skilled work in the operation, repair, and maintenance of Hospital Central Plant equipment. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining high-pressure steam boilers, chillers, and a variety of mechanical systems including pumps, vacuum pumps, air compressors, water softeners, and generators. Ensures continuous and reliable utility services—such as steam, chilled water, compressed air, and emergency power—are provided to support hospital operations.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Routine operation of Central Plant equipment, such as boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps and all auxiliary components in the overall utility service function for the Hospital
  • Inspection, maintenance and repair of the equipment and its ancillary components of the Hospital Central plant and its functionality throughout the campus
  • Understanding of safety regulations and proper procedures as they relate to the operation of Central Plant equipment and its auxiliaries throughout the Hospital Campus
  • Service and testing of the water treatment processes that apply to all the chemical treatments of the systems and equipment of the Central Plant
  • Understanding of the operation of the emergency generators as they are in stand-by of the emergency power grid of the hospital and the associated functioning of transfer switches

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years experience in operation, maintenance and repair of high-pressure steam boilers, chillers, and other mechanical equipment such as pumps, vacuum pumps, air compressors, softeners, and generators, to provide for utilities such as heating, air conditioning, and other services to the hospital
