Responsibilities

About this opportunity:

All employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with the vision and values of the organization. The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction in the most cost effective manner. The Unit Coordinator, performs support functions on the patient care units including admitting, record keeping, and order entry. Performs as customer relations liaison, concierge, and clerical systems and problem solution facilitator. The UC always observes the Core Values in prioritizing work and providing prompt and efficient service. Demonstrates a high degree of cooperation and collaboration, open communication and a strong commitment to team goals.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Requires at least 6 months recent experience in a healthcare setting including, but not limited to , either unit coordinator, admitting, billing or medical records analyst. If no healthcare experience then position requires completion of a vocational course such as medical assistant, unit coordinator, medical records, billing etc.
  • Experience with computer entry and word processing.
  • Requires graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • Requires basic medical terminology and abbreviations.
  • Satisfactory completion of basic CPR course (Heart Saver level). 
  • Ability to fluently speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations.
