Responsibilities

Position Summary: The incumbent demonstrates competency in patient care for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The incumbent will perform arterial punctures, continuous ventilation, airway maintenance, emergency care, infection control, isolation procedures, maintenance and operation of mechanical ventilators, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, aerosolized medication delivery for the treatment of pulmonary disease, and medical gas administration. The incumbent will access the medications from the medication storage unit and the nurse servers in the patient care areas. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested in professional manner.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Two (2) years experience in an acute care hospital setting with 1 year being critical care. If no qualified candidate, may consider taining positions, depending on staffing needs.
  • Completion of an AMA approved respiratory therapy program.
  • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner wiht the State of California.
  • BLS (American Heart Association).
  • PALS (American Heart Association).
  • ACLS

 

Preferred:

  • National Board of Respiratory Care certification is preferred. 
  • Pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas quality contraol and bronchoscopy experience.
