Overview

As a Manager of Respiratory Care at CHI St Vincent, you’ll join an established team to perform administrative, managerial, and supervisory duties associated with planning, purchasing, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling Respiratory Care Services Department's equipment, policies, and personnel.
The Respiratory Therapy Manager will perform all duties in accordance with the mission and core values of this

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement department’s overall plan of operation, including long- and short-range organizational policies, procedures, budgets, staffing, quality patient care, productivity, equipment evaluation/purchases, and cost-effectiveness of all areas.
  • Assist in resolving employee grievances according to established hospital policies.
  • Assess educational needs of departmental employees; provide didactic instruction; consult with staff and supervisors to plan training, educational programs, and skills labs.
  • Act as liaison between department and other departments, the community, physicians, and administration, promoting harmonious relationships.
  • Counsel employees when necessary and perform progressive discipline sessions for repeat offenders.
  • Manages Respiratory Care Services for Morrilton and Sherwood.
  • Compare monthly expense reports and income distribution with projected income/expenses and make appropriate changes to meet annual financial commitment.
  • Assume financial accountability for department; prepare/submit capital, project, operating, and FTE budgets.
  • Review staffing, cost-effectiveness, and productivity by assessing departmental needs based on census, external and internal demands; analyze internal/external trends; plan and develop programs accordingly.
  • Develop data based on professional analysis of national technical standards related to time and complexity of procedures to determine appropriate charge codes.
  • Evaluate services performed; compare with planned budgets/objectives.
  • Analyze monthly income, expense and procedure reports; change appropriately to meet financial commitments

 

Qualifications

Education:

Associates of Science (required)

5 years experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (preferred)

3 years of supervisory experience (preferred)

 

License and Certtifications:

Respiratory Care Practioner: AR (RESP-LIC:AR)

Basic Life Support - CPR (AHA CLS)
