Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services, the Manager of Staffing and Patient Transport oversees daily operations within assigned departments, ensuring administrative, operational, and staffing needs are effectively met. This role requires strategic planning, workload prioritization, and staff coordination to maintain high standards of service and efficiency. The manager plays a key role in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and departmental goals, while promoting a positive, patient-centered culture aligned with Dignity Health’s values.
The manager leads patient transportation services, ensuring timely and safe patient movement for admissions, discharges, internal transfers, and ancillary services. They assess transportation needs and implement efficient, cost-effective solutions for both patient and product transport to support hospital throughput and patient flow.
In collaboration with hospital leadership, the manager contributes to operational planning and addresses patient and customer satisfaction. They respond to concerns with appropriate action and lead proactive initiatives to enhance service quality.
This position is also responsible for recruiting, training, and retaining qualified staff while fostering an environment of collaboration and growth. The manager oversees scheduling, staffing levels, performance evaluations, and, when necessary, disciplinary actions. They may also provide direct patient care as needed.
Daily responsibilities include supervising staff, managing productivity, and ensuring timely service delivery. The manager plays a vital role in supporting a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment while promoting staff engagement, patient safety, and service excellence.
