Responsibilities

Staffing Coordinator – Community Hospital of San Bernardino

 

At Community Hospital of San Bernardino, our ability to deliver exceptional patient care begins with having the right people in the right place at the right time. We are seeking a detail-oriented Staffing Coordinator to play a key role in ensuring nursing units are optimally staffed to meet patient care needs.

 

In this vital role, you will coordinate staffing adjustments using established acuity guidelines and staffing matrices, maintain accurate records, and provide timely staffing information to nursing leadership. Your work will directly support patient safety, staff satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Adjust staffing levels under the guidance of the Nurse Manager to align with patient acuity and departmental needs
  • Maintain accurate records for schedules, attendance, call-offs, staffing sheets, acuity statistics, and registry logs
  • Create and manage schedules for the Float Pool and maintain related education files
  • Collaborate with nursing managers to resolve scheduling gaps and ensure optimal staff utilization
  • Monitor attendance patterns and assist in addressing chronic call-in concerns
  • Coordinate staffing information across designated nursing units on a 24-hour basis

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as clerical or nursing assistant in an acute care facility.
  • Experience as a Staffing Coordinator and previous clerical and nursing background is preferred.
