• This position requires 5 years experience in a histology laboratory that results in demonstrated proficiency in all phases of histologic technique.
• Histotechnician (HT)
• Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences.
• This position also requires candidates to have knowledge of: skills in the preparation, embedding, cutting, and staining of tissue specimens; anatomic pathology terminology and histology equipment; proper gross examination procedures. Special skills required for the position include the ability to: work as a team to meet the team goals and objectives; work effectively under stress and adjust priorities as circumstances require; maintain a high degree of accuracy; treat co-workers, patients, visitors, and the public with dignity and respect; establish and maintain effective working relationships with all hospital personnel and medical staff; maintain patient confidentiality; problem-solve effectively; work a flexible schedule and be willing to work additional hours if needed for the provision of quality patient care.
