JOB SUMMARY:
This job is responsible for supporting and driving the plan of care and providing comprehensive remote oversight of the care of patients on a medical-surgical, telemetry or progressive care unit. The virtual model will include collaboration between the bedside team and virtual care members where an incumbent will anticipate and direct the care of the patient through evaluating health promotion, risk reduction and advanced clinical decision-making.
An incumbent assumes accountability for patient care outcomes through the assimilation and application of evidence-based practice to design, implement and evaluate care. This is accomplished through coordinating, delegating and supervising the care provided by the unit-based health care team, including RNs, LPNs, certified assistants, hospitalists, specialty physicians, social workers, case managers and allied health professionals.
Work requires a high degree of professional competence and autonomy will be demonstrated in performing the roles of 1) clinician, 2) educator, 3) consultant/collaborator, 4) leader.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs related duties as required.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, and three years of related acute care work experience. One year of “leadership” experience preferred. BSN strongly preferred.
