Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Pulmonology Clinical Assistant position is responsible for knowing his/her professional scope of practice as
defined by the California Business and Professional Code and for satisfactorily completing the Dignity Health
Marian Regional Medical Center orientation period that includes demonstrating skills and behaviors that meet a
fully competent level of performance. The Clinical Assistant maintains a clean, organized, and safe work
environment and performs patient care services for front and back office duties. The Clinical Assistant supports
the physician/provider’s practice under the clinical supervision of the Physician, Registered Nurse, Nurse
Practitioner, or Physician Assistant for thePulmonary service line.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of Medical Assistant Program.
  • Medical Assistant Certification
  • Pulmonology experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant is required.
  • Experience with Cerner and Athena IDX is required.
  • Medical terminology class completion or equivalent experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills are essential.
  • Keyboarding skills and the ability to utilize computer equipment and software are required as is experience with other types of standard office equipment.
  • Thorough understanding of provider schedules, contracts, vendors, staffing and integration.
