Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY: In accordance with the mission and philosophy of Dignity Health, the Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients and their families. To provide patient screening, admission, and successful progression through all aspects of the outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation program (Phase II & III), under the direction of the Department Coordinator and the Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience and/or specialty training in cardiovascular rehab and critical cardiac care. Preferably one year within the past two years. 
  • Completion of annual competencies and unit specific training.
  • Basic knowledge of exercise physiology, nutrition, risk factor modification strategies, counseling techniques and uses of education programs and techniques as applied to cardiovascular rehabilitation services 

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/TRAINING: 

  • Current California Registered Nurse license (RN) 
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for healthcare providers (BLS)
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Certification (ACLS) preferred.
