Sterile Processing Tech I

This is a PRN role.

The rate is $18/hr.

As a Sterile Processing Technician I at St. Luke's Vintage Hospital, now part of commonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you’ll assist in patient care and preparation of surgical patients.  We can’t operate without you. 

The operating room (OR) runs as a team; every person on the team has an important role that directly impacts the patient. Your success in this role comes from your adaptability and enthusiasm to work with a team taking patients from a diseased process to a healing process.

• Participates in routine cleaning activities (i.e. sterilizers, surface areas, storage carts, etc.)
• Transports and decontaminates all soiled instrumentation and equipment to a state of cleanliness, disinfection and disposes of all infectious items 
• Assures accuracy in the assembly and packaging of instrumentation, special trays and equipment for sterilization
• Performs all steam, sterrad, and ethylene oxide sterilization activities
• Labels, incubates, logs, and documents all biological indicators

• High School Diploma/GED Required
• CRCST preferred
• One (1) Year of applicable experience, determined by facility –OR-Successful completion of a Sterile Processing Tech or Surgical Tech Program from an accredited school.
