Mercy Hospital of Folsom provides surgical services including minimally-invasive general urological and gynecological surgeries. We also provide comprehensive and award-winning orthopedic services which include surgery inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation and specialty orthopedic care. As a certified Joint Commission Stroke Center Mercy Folsom provides exceptional care to our patients in our Medical Surgical and Intensive Care units as well as our 25-bed Emergency Department. Our Family Birth Center features private and contemporary birthing suites where labor delivery and recovery occur in one room as well as award-winning lactation training and support. Responsibilities

The Security Officer ensures that the healthcare enterprise reasonably safe and secure environment.  Respond promptly to security emergencies within the hospital or other healthcare settings while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. Is responsible for documenting all incidents and requests for assistance within the hospital reporting platform. Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned site. Preserves order and acts to enforce regulations and policies when assistance is requested by medical staff/employees. The security officer shall support CommonSpirit Health’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities. It is expected that the security officer will demonstrate behavior consistent with CommonSpirit Health core values and Humankindness.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • high School Graduate and Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement or military service; or High School diploma or GED and One (1) year experience as a Security Officer/Guard.
  • BLS (CPR) authorized by the American Heart Association within 90 days - required
  • BSIS certification - required.
  • Valid California Drivers license required within 30 days of hire
  • Must be able to speak English, communicate clearly orally and in writing
  • Knowledgeable in the use of de-escalation techniques
