Responsibilities

Job Summary:

 

The incumbent operated ultrasound and related imaging equipment to produce diagnostic ultrasound studies and images according to protocols established by the Department Chairman. Demonstrates competency in care for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Technologist is required to participate in the department's call schedule to provide weeknight, weekend, and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

Requirements:

 

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Registered Cardiac Elect (RCES) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen (RDMSAB) or Registered Technologist Computed Tomography (RTCT) or Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT (RTR) N/A Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) N/A  or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
  • BLS from AHA
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound and vascular procedures with a high level of expertise.
  • Distinguish between normal and abnormal pathology.
  • Work independently adjusting priorities according to changing clinical situations .
  • Prioritize work.
  • Communicate well with others.
  • Deal effectively with ill and agitated patients.
  • Review and understand medical records.
  • Work independently.
  • PACS.
  • Medical Terminology, anatomy and physiology relating to ultrasound and medical imaging.
  • Ultrasound physics and instrumentation. 
  • Ultrasound Technologist-ARDMS registry eligible.
  • Ultrasound Technologist I- one ARDMS registry.
  • Ultrasound Technologist II- two ARDMS registries.
  • Ultrasound Technologist III-three or more ADRMS registries
