Located in the Phoenix, Ariz., suburb of Gilbert, the Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, is a 198-bed, not-for profit hospital with more than 1,300 team members and almost 900 doctors on staff representing all major specialties. In 2014, Phoenix Children’s Hospital launched a 22-bed pediatric unit inside the hospital. Mercy Gilbert opened in 2006 and has been a vital part of the growing community. Responsibilities

Provides excellent care, in the role of Radiology Technologist, for the patients of Mercy Gilbert Medical Center.

 

Displays competency operating teleradiology system and equipment including performing procedures in the department, in the operating room, and on a mobile basis.

Utilizes good radiation safety practices for patients, self and others by use of available radiation protection devices. Ensure badges are worn appropriately and readings are available.

Accurately marks all radiographs with R's and L's. Accurately marks whether an image is upright or supine (when applicable), assures that the patient information is clearly visible.

Always provides written documentation on the x ray requisition stating the reason(s) the exams are being done. Initials all requisitions.
Practices good sterile technique when required and utilizes universal precautions and other infection control practices as appropriate.

Maintains equipment in good operating order: communicates the need for repair to supervisor, especially electrical and mechanical hazards.
Establishes and accurately maintains files, database(s), coding practice, and records on an ongoing basis for the department. Routinely enters all the required information and documentation into the departmental computer system.

Qualifications

 

Three (3) years as a Radiologic Technologist
 
Education:  Graduate from an approved Radiological Technology Program.
 
Licensure
Current American Heart Association BLS Card.

Current AZ CRT.

Current ARRT-R
 
Special Skills
Basic computer skills including MS Office Suites. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
