Responsibilities

Are you a highly experienced Cath Lab professional with a passion for education and mentorship? We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Cath Lab Educator to champion the clinical development of our nursing staff and Rad Techs. This pivotal role involves fostering expertise, ensuring competency, and driving quality improvement within our cutting-edge Cath Lab and related cardiovascular areas.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Educational Leadership: Design, deliver, and evaluate comprehensive educational programs for Cath Lab staff, including Rad Techs, RNs, and CVTs. This includes developing and managing the "Cath Lab 101" training program for Rad Techs.
  • Competency Management: Oversee the ongoing review, revision, and management of staff clinical competencies. Conduct regular evaluations to identify learning needs and coordinate targeted training opportunities.
  • Clinical Mentorship & Coaching: Act as a recognized expert, providing hands-on, "at-the-elbows" clinical training and mentorship to staff in patient care areas.
  • Policy & Procedure Development: Collaborate on the creation, review, and revision of Cath Lab policies, procedures, and competencies.
  • Quality Improvement & Research: Lead or participate in quality improvement initiatives and research studies as directed, with a focus on enhancing Cath Lab operations and patient outcomes.
  • Clinical Resource: Serve as an organizational resource for Cath Lab expertise, assisting with CV Surgical cases in the Hybrid Suite and CVOR as needed.
  • Program Development: Contribute to the development and coordination of specialty programs/services within the cardiovascular department.
  • Maintain Clinical Competence: Regularly engage in direct patient care alongside staff to maintain clinical proficiency and provide real-world training.
  • This role requires a flexible schedule to ensure accessibility to all staff across shifts, reflecting our 24/7 operational needs with on-call requirements.

Qualifications

Requires:

  • Minimum of four (4) years in cath lab scrubbing.
  • CA Radiologic Technologist License and Flouroscopy License required.
  • ARRT required.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required.
  • Expertise with Siemens and Philips Xray Equipment
  • Specialty certification and/or 2 years teaching preferred.
