Job Summary and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the supervisor and/or the medical directors of the EKG/echocardiogram department, is responsible for the administration of all EKGs as well as treadmill, pharmacological tests, signal averaging EKGs, holter monitor hook up and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

 

  • Appropriate training in EKG, treadmill testing, holtermonitor hook up and basic computer training.
  • Substantial knowledge of EKG testing, treadmill hook up and testing, hook up of holtermonitors, office skills and procedures, aseptic techniques, medical terminology, organization of skills, problem solving skills, effective time management, policy and procedure development, basic mathematics, basic computer skills.
  • Some knowledge of scientific and technical activities to apply knowledge of equipment, philosophy, policies, and standards of mercy hospital accuracy standards of tests, cardiology and electrical safety standards, typing and basic computer skills proper phone techniques
  • Ability to deal with critically ill patients, adjust to emergency situations, understand test procedures and explain them to patients,record graphs in sequential order, maintain good relationship with physicians and other personnel.

 

Preferred:

  • Two (2) year degree.
