One Community. One Mission. One California

Responsibilities

As an Echocardiology Nurse at St. Bernardino Medical Center, you will focus on providing comprehensive non-invasive cardiac testing and rehabilitation services to a diverse patient population. While most patients are middle-aged or older, you will draw on a solid understanding of lifespan growth and development to effectively assess and address the unique needs of adolescents, adults, and aging adults. You will play a pivotal role in guiding patients through their cardiac care journey, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and ensuring each individual’s well-being is a priority.

Key Responsibilities

• Exemplify patient satisfaction principles, including AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You), in every interaction with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Apply the Nursing Process—Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Documentation, and Evaluation—to consistently deliver exceptional cardiac care.
• Orient patients and their families to the Health & Fitness Center, including explaining exercise equipment use, telemetry, safety protocols, and any age-specific considerations.
• Collaborate with patients and their families to develop individualized care goals, drawing on all relevant information to create targeted plans that address each patient’s specific health and age-related requirements.
• Communicate with team members regarding patients’ physical, emotional, and age-specific needs, documenting changes and progress in patient records.
• Continuously assess patients’ status, adjusting goals and interventions as needed to optimize outcomes.
• Provide guidance and oversight to ancillary nursing staff, technicians, students, and new team members, serving as a knowledgeable, supportive mentor and role model.

Join a mission-driven organization committed to advancing cardiac health, improving patient outcomes, and embracing a compassionate, inclusive approach to care. Your expertise, leadership, and dedication to continuous improvement will be key to driving excellence in cardiac services and enhancing lives in our community.
