Mercy Hospital Downtown is a 194-bed facility located in downtown Bakersfield. Mercy Hospital Southwest is a 78-bed facility and the only hospital located in the rapidly growing area west of Highway 99. Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Program Manager, Community Health Worker's are responsible for conducting outreach and education activities for identified populations. Community Health Worker's are responsible for identifying possible outreach and education locations and effective strategies to reach target population. Community Health Worker's will lead education sessions to both groups and individuals. Community Health Worker's working under this program will need to adhere to established procedures for outreach, education, advocacy and client referral. The focus area for Community Health Worker's will vary according to program goals. Community Health Worker's must become knowledgeable of focus area content, approved messaging and required procedures to advocate for clients. Community Health Worker's will need to adhere to established procedures for outreach, educations, advocacy, and client referral.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one-year experience in community outreach, education advocacy work
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish 
  • Current Drivers License
