Responsibilities

The Manager, Ambulatory Pharmacy Services leads a dynamic and multifaceted pharmacy operation, ensuring optimal patient outcomes, cost-effective medication utilization, and efficient pharmacy services across various ambulatory settings. The Manager oversees utilization management, streamlines pharmacy procurement for clinics, manages expanding infusion center operations, and drives a highly impactful prescription renewal service that significantly reduces physician burden.

 

Position Summary:


The Manager is responsible for the overall leadership to the Pharmacy Services for Dignity Health Medical Foundation. Reporting to the Director of Managed Care, this individual serves as the leader for operations of the pharmacy department.The department includes E-Fill Service, the anti-coag team and Price Clinic.The Manager will work closely with the Director of Managed Care on Dignity Health Medical Foundation initiatives related to pharmacy services.


Responsibilities may include:
- Responsible for ensuring the successful operations of the Pharmacy department.
- Program Development to meet goals of the organization as directed by the Director of Managed Care.
- Collaborates with the Director to maintain departmental operating budget.
- Manages staff development, engagement, performance and productivity.
- Assess and recommend improvements to department business and work processes.
- Ensures departmental strategies are in line with organizational strategies by collaborating with key leaders.
- Partners with local Executive Directors and medical staff to ensure service levels are appropriate.
- Partners with identified Physician Champions to operationalize services within each clinical group.
- Expands appropriate pharmacy services to other Dignity Health Medical Foundation locations working with local Executive Directors/ Physician Champion to hire appropriate staff to meet the needs of the various locations.
- Responsible for ensuring collaboration with the health care team to provide clinical pharmacy interventions to participating clients/patients transitioning between levels of care using an evidence-based care coordination approach.
- Partner with the Pharmacists to develop and implement pharmacy interventions designed to streamline plans of care, interrupt patterns of frequent acute hospital or emergency department use and prevent health status decline among identified populations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:


- 8 years progressively responsible experience in clinical pharmacy setting.
- 3 years of supervisor or management responsibility.
- Bachelors Of Science in Pharmacy
- Clear and current CA Pharmacist license
- Solid knowledge of laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.

- Exceptional relationship management experience.

- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Ability to successfully communicate and interact with all levels of an organization.

- Ability to lead and motivate others through initiatives and projects.

 

Preferred Qualifications:


- Experience managinging a retail pharmacy and program development preferred.
