The Patient Care Tech is a multi-skilled, non-licensed health care provider who provides direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse. Applies knowledge of growth and development to perform detailed assignments/interventions. Provides consistent care based on the changing physical and psychosocial needs, unique to the patient.
Responsibilities of the Patient Care Tech include but are not limited to the following:
PCT I-Students ages 16 and 17 can be employed with parental consent as part of High School Health Career Program, High School graduate or equivalent.BLS within 30 days of hire
PCT II-High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an approved Nursing Assistant Program/CNA or student nurse who has completed Fundamentals of Nursing or EMT-Advanced/ EMT-Paramedic. Prefers phlebotomy and 12 lead EKG TECH experienceCurrent State Certification Certified Nursing Assistant orCurrent State License EMT-Advanced or EMT- Paramedic or transcript of fundamental of Nursing completion and currently enrolled in a Nursing programOne year of hospital patient care experience, minimum of six months experience with cardiac/medical patients desired.
