We are seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to provide essential support to our nursing staff and contribute to the high-quality care of patients in our Emergency Room. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a vital part of our patient care team, ensuring comfort, safety, and efficient flow within the ED.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

As an ED CNA, you will play a crucial role in the patient experience. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Direct Patient Care: Assisting patients with personal care and comfort needs, including bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation, and maintaining hygiene.
  • Vital Sign Monitoring & Documentation: Accurately taking and recording vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiratory rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation), height, and weight, and reporting any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff.
  • Patient Transport & Logistics: Safely transporting patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed, and assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Specimen Collection: Obtaining and labeling various samples (e.g., urine, stool, sputum) and transporting blood/blood products.
  • Procedure Support: Preparing patients, equipment, and supplies for examinations and procedures, assisting with patient positioning and transfers.
  • Documentation: Providing patient information to nursing staff and documenting relevant patient data according to unit standards.
  • Emergency Response: Performing basic life support and assisting medical staff during emergencies.
  • Environmental Maintenance: Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment, stocking supplies, and reporting equipment issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Working closely with nursing staff, following clear instructions, and seeking guidance when needed to ensure exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA): MN certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
