Responsibilities

Reporting to the System Supervisor of Revenue Integrity and working in collaboration with CommonSpirit Health
Operations, this position is responsible for assistance in carrying out and monitoring the majority of the activities
related to Charge Description Master (CDM) activities. This position will require collaboration and consistent
communication with the System and Local Revenue Integrity leadership as well as other members of
CommonSpirit Health Middle Revenue Cycle leadership, Revenue Cycle Partners and possibly Enterprise
Executive Leadership, CFOs and CMOs.


The role supports the CommonSpirit Health Charge Description Master enterprise with the goal to enhance
effectiveness of patient net revenue realization and minimize revenue leakage across the system. This involves
complete management of CDM’s for designated revenue producing departments, understanding how CDM’s link
to charge capture and charge triggers, ensuring clean handoffs between System leadership teams and clinical
departments, denials management, and clinical operations relations.

 

❖ Ability to establish personal and professional credibility with Conifer Health, Optum360 CDM and
Revenue Integrity Leadership, Dignity and CHI Division Leaders, working collaboratively to maintain a
cohesive environment.
❖ Demonstrates subject matter expertise and leadership in Charge Description Master to other business
partner relationships – clinical, compliance, quality, finance, and information technology.
❖ Thorough knowledge of Charge Description Master across the organization with the confidence to
challenge the status quo to improve organizational effectiveness.
❖ Ability to identify issues prior to becoming a problem and work with System Revenue Integrity Leadership
and, as needed Division RI teams, to implement and execute an action plan for quick resolution
❖ Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, and the ability to clearly articulate
goals and expectations to Executive Leadership both within System and Divisions, across the
organization.
❖ The ability to manage time and expectations and maintain flexibility in a dynamic work environment. The
ability to prioritize and effectively respond to issues as they arise.

Qualifications

  • Epic experience required.
  • Epic implementation experience preferred. 
  • 3 years of experience in a health care environment dealing
    with billing, coding, revenue cycles, compliance, or CDM
    type work.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance,
    business administration or related field - Preferred.
